Will gods play a big part in this game and how should we imagine them being connected with magic if that is in the game at all?
Can we for example join a monastery and follow a path to be a monk for specific god or are god (if they are in this game) only cosmetic for the fluff?

Have you had a chance to read Robs Vision post?

To somewhat expand on the question here, and keep with the topic of Gods...

What sort of limitations can we expect on gods that exist or can be created. Basically asking, how will gods be filtered through the system? It is inevitable that people will want to recreate their real religions in game and can truly amass the following for it to be accepted. So do we just need a basic name change, or what?

I personally am interested in say, the greek god Caerus. And not just because of the game's name, heh. It was something I looked into further when Mortal mentioned the Raffle of Caerus. Such a god would be quite beneficial to have around for my goals. Now... back to the issue at hand, is Caerus already an existing diety as the greek mythology, does it exist as it's own unique entity in the game? If it's not there, can people rip gods right out of mythology? I realize gods from other games, literature, and such should be minimized as much as possible due to copyright and the like.

Just really curious on the stance for creation.

A vast majority of religion and god stuff in game is unique. There may be resemblances as some influence was taken from various real world religions to help guide us down the path we wanted, but the lore and game story provides its own set of old gods, religions, etc. So while you might see religion systems comparable to, for example, greek mythological gods, the actual names and powers of the gods are drawn from the novel, not an outside influence. It is up to the players whether they support those deities, or strive to bring new ones into existence.

I'll be getting to work on a "God of Belligerence" in a moment here. Think Dionysus but twice as violent and possibly on cocaine.

...wouldn't that be like 20 times as violent then? >.>;;
