Aaldnarech is a land of both beauty and danger, capable of lulling the unwary with natural charm and leaving them oblivious to peril until the moment it consumes them. In its northern reaches, thousands of dark stone peaks sheathed in ice pierce the peaceful northern sky, offering a warning to any brave - or foolish - enough to explore their heights. Dense pine forests scattered throughout the valleys struggle to bring color to an otherwise pure white scene, but still are often lost in the heavy blizzards that rage even during the summer months. The central regions boast beautiful, rolling hills, great plains, and even rivers and lakes - all hidden beneath layers of snow and ice that accumulate throughout the winter. Only during the warmest months do the rivers carry away this frozen shroud so that the land might be revealed in all its glory. The southern coast of Aaldnarech fends off the frost and snow with the aid of strong oceanic currents from the south, offering some reprieve from the bitter winds and constant snowfall. It is here that you find the colors of spring and summer struggling to hold their sovereignty against the endless onslaught of winter. Here in the northern-most reaches of the world you will find hardy creatures, fearless warriors and fierce challenges, ancient cities and fortresses, caverns and dungeons. Nordic clans battle for territory, food, and their very survival.
