Yes, I just wanted to throw this in here to maybe stir a discussion about how you want to experience the game as a whole. The FoV is an important part of it, but things like viewing distance, motion blur, head bobbing and movement controls tie tightly together. So I had the feeling that we may want to discuss all of it in one piece so everyone can have a say of how the game should feel like perspective and movement wise!
I`ll start. I hope the general feeling will be, that you control a characters body as a whole instead of being a floating sword/bow in the world. You should be able to see your body, do different sorts of movements and of course turn your head. As for the FoV I hope it`ll be customizable, so every players can work out how he likes to view the game.

You know, this should probably go in a speed thread, but i dont want to see players instantaneously wipping thier heads around or spinning in circles. There's a limit to how fast you can turn as a human and that should be respected. It would be nice for people turning too quickly too trip, even. xD.

Maybe when you die and turn into a zombie, or get possessed by the devil, you will be able to spin your head?

wouldn't that just tear the tissues and cause your head to fall off?

If it takes you more than 250ms to turn your head to the side you should probably go see a doctor about that.
But again, FoV and head turning, while related, are different items. The head turning can be balanced perfectly, but if FoV is too narrow or broad it can give us a very unrealistic viewing perspective.

Personally in regards to the 'Field of Vision' idea peripherals would be nice, though personally i'm hoping for the ability to turn your head without having to actually rotate your entire body as is so common in most games, perhaps using the Q and E buttons to do so. I am also hoping for the option for those of us who favor the use of armor to be restricted in our field of vision whilst wearing a helmet, or even the option to raise or lower our visors (if the helmet has one) in order to better our field of vision if only at the risk of exposing ourselves to more harm by doing so.

I really like to see some great stuff with vision and perspective, because I think games nowadays limit themselves by copying old idea over and over...
