    Did you hear about...

You may as well consider this the NPC fawning thread. In a game such as this, where it actually matters that you saved a town from being devasted, you have an opportunity to respect that and make it actually feel like a token of respect. Be it through parades in your honour, a feasting by the disgruntled lord who's forced to put up with the public's ignorant fawning, statues being made in your honour- the point is, earning some respect in the game world, and if enough players see your monument? Maybe outside it.

Personally, what i would love to see is that ancient and respected medium, the inn tale. If NPC's could pass word of your heroics through word of mouth and possibly official declaration and propoganda, it would be an immensely satisfying feeling to sit unknown in the forests of Nupoanga and hear them speak with grudging respect of the outsider who perhaps was worthy of living beneath their trees. Lastly, if NPC's, possibly influenced by the det, would give you a unique (where it makes sense, which is most cases) honorary name or title which could be passed along, i would bloody love that. I can see it now, fawning players trying to win my aid through ill-fated flattery... .

In summary; if you want the world to feel living, breathing, dynamic and real, a little fawning doesn't hurt :L, and at the same time gives a medium for world class PvE'ers to bandy their name about as much as lauded PvPers.

Edit:that is an incredibly shite title. Change it to "Did you hear about" please mods.

Interesting idea, heroes could get better prices from the vendors and so on.
Here the posdibility of a nation leader to give members individual titles with individual boni and permissions is needed.
Iīm sorry, English isnīt my first language, Iīll try as best as I can and if you canīt stand it, donīt read it.

much like the Thane system in Skyrim, every nation could set aside a rank/permission for Heroes who come along and save their nation's ass.

There was a game that never got released called "Wish" where they had dynamic events and they would add details of those events to NPCs and in-game items etc.

While "Wish" died out before release, I participated in the beta and some of the dynamic event stuff was great. And the fact that the characters who lead the events would give out titles and then pass out deeds etc. to be written up into lore was great.

Would be great if FS could somehow make a way for them to quickly add dialog to tons of different NPCs so that you could say have innkeepers on a whole continent talking about the players who took part in an event, or the clan who is sieging a city etc.

I really love the idea of going to an Inn to recharge and relax a bit, and having some idle banter would really help with immersion.

the Dynamic Event Team will be able to influence NPC dialog and actions, as well as set up dynamic events. =D
