whether directly or indirectly, no posts should be insulting any factor of any community member.
could moderaters begin erasing those POSTS that they deem insulting, instead of allowing the general trajectory of the thread to subsequently fall into ruin and lockage?
giving trolls the power to have every thread they dont like get locked by insulting someone is a terrible idea. especially when any offencive post can be deleted immediately.
please consider.

I've been on enough sewer forums in my life to desire this forum not to go down that route.Last edited by Pyrosmite; 7th August 2012 at 03:19 PM.

I didn't expect to hear from you Borbo for another week after post 1,000. I thought you were going away to celebrate or something.
Anyway, I agree. Everyone needs to be considerate of each other. Doesn't mean we can't argue and disagree, just no need to denigrate from there.Last edited by Dyraele; 7th August 2012 at 03:39 PM.

Someone can't handle a bit of heat, hehe.
Borby, you should first look at yourself, if you quit provoking, there won't be a need to confront you in the same manner.Last edited by Nefastus; 7th August 2012 at 03:39 PM.

We won't delete every post that someone might consider insulting but rest assured that we (moderators) are tracking all cases of hostility and we are not sitting idly. The goal is to keep this forum friendly or in the worst case neutral so the community members can discuss all topics and can share their opinions without being bullied by trolls. Keep in mind, that many warnings are sent via PMs so you do not even know that moderators are enforcing the forum's CoC.
One advice from my side - if you consider some post insulting or offensive in any way, report it instead of replying to it. When you reply, you feed the troll, derail the thread and can thus cause it to be closed. Report the post and leave it up to us.
Thanks.
As there is not much else to be added I close this thread to prevent useless trolling.Last edited by Glabro; 7th August 2012 at 03:41 PM.

yeah, we waited an extra day to leave

and if anyone wants to make Pro-insult arguments, please don't post them here. go make your own thread explaining why that style of communication has any reason to be on a mature community forum for a developing MMO.
remaining silent is an option, as well.

Borborygmus,
Thank you for your suggestion and I have taken your concerns into consideration.
As the forum community grows I will need to revisit the rules and the code of conduct. The moderator team is quite active in managing any issues regarding behaviour on the forum however we are also mindful of the self-managing nature of the community. It is our experience that the community is unwelcoming of poor behaviour.
I cannot expect my team to review every post in every thread and have actively encouraged the moderation style currently in place which is effectively based on trying to guide conversations appropriately rather than force conformance to our rules. Where necessary we will step in and take moderator action.
I would however suggest that those of your who are concerned review your own contribution to the issue. Take a look back through your posts and determine if you rise to the bait and if you do, how to you handle adversity? Where you do have a genuine concern, use the report post button to bring something to our attention.
I will say however that those members of the community who are here to be disruptive and troll;these forums are a welcome place to encourage constructive participation by all community members. I do have a zero-tolerance to non-constructive posts which are disruptive.
Where behaviour is non-constructive and disruptive, you will be issued a warning through the infraction system. If you continue to be disruptive, an infraction will be issued.
