What I would love to see in the game is large events where dark forces threatens the world. These could vary from hordes of undead to powerful creatures that could potentially raze empires. Maybe some of the events could be triggered by how much magic is used in the world (mages need all the hate they can get). An other aspect of PvE I like to see is the use of special arsenal of weapons and knowledge to defeat certain monsters. Items like silver weapons could be of use againts werewolfs making odd weapons have efffectivness in an area that usually wouldn't be viable in others.

I just had an image pop into my head. Whenever a spell is cast, a counter goes up by a certain amount depending on the power of the spell. When that counter hits X number of spells, Rob gets an email that says "Time for another world event, too much damn magic." And at their earliest convenience the dev team takes a day off to play the bad guys, and we need to fight them off. He's already mentioned that they will occasionally control boss type monsters.

The mythical Dragonlances of Krynn come to mind with such a suggestion, as well as other mythical creatures and their vulnerabilities. The common place items that thus gain much value in times of need. Fae folk and cold-iron, werewolves and silver, Superman and kryptonite, vampires and running water (at times)... Anyhow, I always enjoy playing D&D and the like while having to creatively defend against something that would otherwise tear me to pieces, heh.
I've also always enjoyed those 'server-wide' type events in games, as long as everyone can contribute somehow it always turns out to be loads of fun, even if the players lose, horribly, hehe.

The mage comment was a good one.

And I totally support the idea to have something like vulnerabilities and immunities in the game for certain mobs. Would make the whole pve more interesting and generates a need for certain equipment which is never used in pvp.
