    Character start from...

I would like to see a system where you could start your character at an early age and not just the normal 18+, where families can grow and make a bond and a good roleplay can spring. Starting your trade early by squire'ing, pickpocketing and every now and then you get the option to make your character grow abit and become older. Id like to see benefits for gimping yourself like this in the start and let you grow more powerful than if you were just jumping into the game at 30+ years and directly into pvp'ing.

It takes abit of dedication from you but i think it should be worth it in the end :>

I'm assuming that you mean that as a kid you have a slightly elevated skill gain? If not, some points below may not be relevant

If you allow the player to play as kids there are certain issues to take into consideration.

Firstly FS already stated that they won't allow kid-killing in the game. Will players kid characters be an exception or will they have some form immunity till they grow older? And if they do have immunity how can that be balanced?

If kid-characters are not given immunity, will they be viable for PvP or will they start with sub-standard stats? Will one who starts as an 18+ be unable to compete with someone who grew a char from 10 to 18? Will players be able to amend their avatar each time they "age" or will it be automated? Will ageing stop at 18?

    Food for thought

I can only see long tasks then of trying to prevent exploition's just to add kids with benefits in the game. So perhaps scrap this idea :/

Maybe you could be immune when you're under 18, imagine it's like the tutorial phase of the game, you're not really in danger you're getting introduced to the world, a little bit of hunting, exercising etc, and then you go 18+ when you want to and jump in the "true world". Something like the noob island in Shadowbane, or the yellow flag in Mortal Online.

Although that theory has many holes in it, cause not everyone would want to play a 18 year old, so wouldnt they get the tutorial phase? it would seem a bit unfair, and if you would make a "yellow flag" for everyone then this scenario makes no sense, other than story wise.

oww that would be quite awesome have some small quest line plus time where you are a kid. You can play as long as you like as kid but you wont be able to leave a certain boundary around the city. so you can taste the game as slash said pretty good idea.

I just imagined guards saying something in a horrible Austrian-Skyrim dubbed accent "Aren't you a little too young to be leaving the city on yer own?". Great idea.

Yes, it could work until the city is under attack and the kids are used as unkillable meatshields

Do we even know if NPC cities will be able to be attacked like that?

Well I think its confirmed that you can somehow attack npc cities, but you wont be able to completely conquer them because they are needed as neutral spots for new characters to start in.

Well I have two suggestions. Actually allow kids to be killed or have all kids be escorted inside buildings for their safety, IE be forced to log off or actually be forced into the keep. I don't know exactly how this parameter would be controlled so that tutorials wouldn't be logged out every time a guard is hit.
