I like the idea that if you get shot with a arrow through the head you die. And depending on the angle and how you shoot it and the position of the target that the arrow might just skim him if shot in the head. Ya most hunters dont aim for the head but if an arrow goes through a humans head he's pretty much dead. And I also purpose the idea that in EOC there should be some sort of simulated heart. So if you got shot in the chest and it perced the heart your dead.

This link is not for the squeamish so don't click it if you have a sensitive stomach. It is, however, a prime example of how "one hit kills" are not guaranteed insta-kills or even fatal wounds at all. I've said it before in this thread and I'll say it one final time. I'm not in favor of one-hit kills and for every example of "in real life this would kill you in one shot" I can find an example where it wasn't a guaranteed kill.

At this point, though, I'm going to stop posting in this particular thread because I believe I'm just repeating myself and that doesn't promote healthy debate. I'll keep checking to see if something new comes about.

PS - If it's already been brought up then forgive me...as I've said before, I'm gettin' older so the ol' grey matter's gettin' a little clogged and forgetful.

I wonder what his chances of survival would be if he didn't have a hospital to be rushed off to.

Ah, but we're talking about dying instantly. Clearly, that wasn't the case here.

But to answer your question, here's a guy who had a 4-inch blade in his skull for four years.

I read the link. It's sad to hear that someone actually tried to kill some one over cheating.

Maybe if some one got shot in the head (in EOC) there would be a small chance of liveing say one in ten thousand.

But, would you always walk around with an arrow in your head after that until you did die? And how long would you lay there until you could move again? These kinds of things aren't applicable in a game because the chances of it happening that way are very slim, and usually leave the victim in a defenseless state.

Agreed. But I would also be fine if they did the one in ten thousand thing.

The inquisitive angel of sportsmanship tells me that it would be more fun if the guy with your first arrow in embedded in his head would actually have atleast one or two strikes in him before he goes down to your next arrow.
