i guess if you can't be bothered to dock a ship in a harbour or risk it getting stolen and beach it somewhere it should just wander adrift a bit.Would be interesting to know what happens to ships once docked since they're not dockable. Maybe it's possible to have NPCs man the ships in the player's absence? Though this would run the same risks (greater ones actually) as the concept of AI managing a logged off player as you had suggested once.
Though I guess in certain parts of the ocean you could let out an anchor if enough players arnt logged on to run the fleet and you are nowhere near land.
who says they have to be pirates.I actually think this would be real interesting. Maybe some form of cargohold that serves as a local bank on the ship. Pirates aren't quite the type to fish, they'd more likely stock up by foraging on desert islands they pass or at pirate-coves

5th January 2012, 12:59 AM #23Thats what I meant. you'd you dwarves when refering to five or six short miners with beards, while you'd use dwarfs when refering to little people. The singular stays the same. But from what I know tolkein did come up with the idea and anyone who has a race of dwarves in their ip has probably "stolen" it from him. So they'd use the same idea of a race of dwarves haveing 'ves" while george rr martin would probably use dwarfs.I was not referring to the race but the actual spelling of the plural
The plural of Dwarf is normally Dwarfs but Tolkien pointedly used Dwarves instead
I hope there'll be large archipeligos where you could easily hide a small city. If there are a hundred islands and half of them have coves and bays which can only be seen at the right angle it would probably be easy enough. Of course it would have to be located near to a trade route between continents to be useful while either being big enough to support of large number of players with some hiding or be useless enough that some players don't build a waystation for ships.Last edited by master; 5th January 2012 at 01:03 AM.
